Town of Bow Bulletin
Winter Heart in the snow

February/March 2020

Welcome to the 2020 Town Meeting edition of the Town of Bow Bulletin.

In this edition, you will find information on how to participate in the 2020 Annual Town Meeting and Annual School District Meeting.  This is your once a year opportunity to choose your elected Town and School officials, vote on proposed zoning changes and discuss and vote on the Town and School District's budgets for
FY 2020-21. It is the voters who will determine how much is spent by the Town and School District for their individual operations, and the amount of taxes that you are willing to commit to fund them both.

"In a town meeting, more than any other form of government on earth, your community and the services it provides emanate not from some “they” in the sky, but from you, the voters. If you haven’t been to town meeting lately, this is a good year to inform yourself, attend, vote, and make it work"

Town Meeting Deliberative Session

Wednesday, March 11, 2020
Meeting starts at 6:30 p.m.
Bow High School Auditorium, 55 Falcon Way

The Town of Bow has the Board of Selectmen/Town Meeting form of government. This is the traditional, "pure democracy" form of town government, whereby the voters themselves, acting at town meeting, are the legislative body. Budgetary and other questions are put before the voters in the form of warrant articles, the merits of which are debated, and then voted on at the meeting.

It's Been a Busy Winter at the Department of Public Works

The Public Works Department has been busy this winter.

As always, thank you for your patience and understanding.  So far, we have had four snow events that
featured two day storms; Dec. 2-3, Dec. 17-18, Dec. 30-31
and on Jan. 18-19. Since the beginning of the winter
season, in addition to plowing, we have applied approximately
2,000 cubic yards of sand/salt mixture on the town roads
and parking lots.
