Important habitats for wildlife? Valuable water resources? Come hear about Bow’s Natural Resources Inventory and why it matters!
Join the Bow Conservation Commission on Wednesday, November 17 at 7 pm at the Old Town Hall (91 Bow Center Road), for a presentation on the newly completed Natural Resources Inventory, referred to as an NRI. Jeff Littleton of Moosewood Ecological, LLC, the company contracted to conduct the NRI, will present the results, including the identified natural resources of the town, the research and field work conducted, identification of conservation focus areas, and NRI recommendations. In addition to a report with a series of maps that will be on display, web-based interactive StoryMaps were produced to present the information.
According to UNH-Extension, a natural resources inventory provides a deeper understanding of community resources and a foundation for planning future protection of key resources. The conduct of an NRI by Conservation Commissions is authorized under RSA 36-A.
The mission of the Bow Conservation Commission is to enhance the natural environment of Bow. The Commission strives to accomplish this by managing the town’s resources and preserving open space and water resources for sustainable uses including environmental awareness and education, forest management, outdoor recreation, and wildlife.
