Explore Bow Town Lands this September for the 2021 NH BioBlitz!

A BioBlitz is a species scavenger hunt where volunteers find and record data on as many different wild living things as possible in a certain area and certain amount of time. During the month of September 2021, you are invited to help find and document species (plants, animals, insects, fungi) found on certain Bow conservation lands using the mobile app iNaturalist You don't need to be an expert -- iNaturalist can help you identify the species of plants, insects, fungi, and wildlife that you find. You will learn more about the world around you and help our town learn more about its natural resources.

UNH Cooperative Extension, the sponsor of this statewide event, has recorded a webinar for people interested in participating. Visit the UNH website for more information and a webinar recording of the online information session, Explore & Observe: NH BioBlitz iNaturalist Training.

Participants are encouraged to sign up for an iNaturalist account at www.inaturalist.org and download the iNaturalist app to their phone before viewing the webinar. iNaturalist is free, fun to use, and can help you and your family learn more about nature.

For more information about what conservation land observations are being "counted," visit the UNH Cooperative Extension website for an online map or the Bow Conservation Commission website, which provides an oinline and downloadable map.

If you are interested in participating in this effort in Bow, view the webinar recording. Email the Conservation Commission at conservation@bownh.gov with any questions.  Looking forward to learning about you explorations of our town's conservation lands!
