In New Hampshire breeding dates are fairly consistent throughout the state and most breeding takes place in November and early December. In a typical year, an estimated 1,200 deer/vehicle collisions occur in New Hampshire. Motorists are advised to watch for deer crossing roadways throughout the year, but especially at dawn and dusk in the late fall. Deer are very active at this time of year because the mating season, or rut, is underway, bucks and does have their minds on other things than vehicles. 

Last year Tim Sweeney, Director of Public Works, had a collision with his truck and a deer. This is what happened....over $7,000 in damages for a minor accident. So here his friendly reminder to be careful and "drive slow see Bow" deer are everywhere.
