What is Operation Call-In?
This community policing service is designed to check the safety and welfare of elderly or individuals within our community who live alone or have special needs, who do not have regular/daily contact with relatives, friends or neighbors.
When a person decides to enroll in this program, they will sign a contract agreeing to phone the Bow Police Department, MONDAY through FRIDAY, between the hours of 9:00am and 11:00am. The people will identify themselves and state that they are checking in as part of the Operation Call-In (OCI).
If the police department has not heard from a person enrolled in this program by 11:00am, contact by telephone. If there is no answer, a Police Officer will be dispatched to the residence to check the safety and welfare of the person. Persons enrolled in the program will be required to supply the police department with a key to their residence. The key will be maintained in a secure location at the police department. Giving a key to the residence is preferred; however, we will make alternate arrangement if this is a concern.
An Application form and an Agreement form will need to be filled you are interested in participating in the Operation Call-In program. In the past, we have had instances where a check of a person enrolled in the program, that failed to call in, was found to have had a medical emergency or had fallen and we got them the assistance that they needed. These forms are on our website https://nh-bow.civicplus.com/246/Forms-Documents or in the Foyer at the Safety Center.
If you have any questions or would like to enroll in the Operation Call-In program, please call us at the Bow Police Department at 223-3950 or email gkenison@bownh.gov.
How Operation Call In Works
A.Operation Call In participants complete an application for admittance to the program. This application is an agreement by both parties involved to abide by the rules of the program. The application also gathers specific information that will be needed in an emergency.
B.Operation Call In participants call into the department anytime from 9:00am and 11:00 am, MONDAY through FRIDAY. Participants will call the Administrative number at 223-3950. If participants are going to be away from home, in the hospital, or for any other reason, they may simply notify the department in advance with the dates away, and call into the department upon their return.
C.At 11:00am, the Department will verify that all program participants have called in. We will then attempt to call participants by telephone to assure their well-being. If we cannot reach the participants by telephone, a Police Officer will be dispatched to the participant’s residence. The Police Officer will make every attempt to verify the participant’s well-being.
