About

The purpose of the committee is to create and present to the Board of Selectmen and Town residents a technology-based wireless communications plan to achieve maximum cellular coverage within the Town’s borders. The plan will include specific recommendations for the construction and location of cellular towers that will achieve this coverage while balancing the Town’s interests in minimizing the number of towers to be constructed and the costs to the Town and other planning priorities such as preserving the Town’s natural resources.  The plan will provide a timetable for accomplishing the tasks it recommends and achieving the stated goals.

Mission

  • Review telecommunications plans created by other communities.
  • Review the provisions of Section 7.10 Radio/TV Tower or Antenna and Personal Wireless Service Facility (PWSF) of the Bow Zoning Ordinance.
  • Review and utilize the "Planning for Wireless Telecommunications-NH Office of Energy and Planning" guidelines
  • Obtain an independent RF Coverage Evaluation of town to determine missing coverage areas and possible tower placement
  • Consult with surrounding towns for possible tower coordination, if interested
  • Advise and assist the Planning Board to develop any potential amendments to the Zoning Ordinance.
  • Post on the Town’s website notices of its meetings, which shall be open to the public, and minutes of its meetings
  • Invite as needed input from the general public and conduct at least one public information session that describes the committee’s findings and plan
  • Advise the Select Board about preparing and distributing as needed Requests for Proposals and evaluating resulting proposals

The bow Telecommunications Plan Committee will pressent a report of the Committee's findings and recommendations on or before September 29, 2023.

Membership 

The Bow Telecommunications Plan Committee will consist of at least seven (7) members appointed by the Board of Selectmen. A Selectmen Representative, Community Development Director, three (4) citizen representaties (one being a former member of the previous community cell tower group).
